Ms. Rounds was born and raised in Glens Falls, New York. As an upstate New York native, she attended the local Adirondack Community College where she earned an associate degree in Police Science before going on to SUNY Plattsburgh earning a bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. During both endeavors, Jessica worked full time in the telemarketing and service industries for at least a decade.
Prior to attending night classes at law school, she was a paralegal and office manager for a prominent criminal law firm in Schenectady, New York. With a little nudging from that firm, she ultimately attended Western New England School of Law in Springfield, Massachusetts earning a Juris Doctorate while simultaneously working full time as an Accounts Receivables Manager for Pride Convenience and Gasoline.
Jessica later became affiliated with a solo practitioner in the Springfield area who worked on both personal injury and alcohol related offenses. In that role, she worked alongside some of the most prominent attorneys focusing on litigation relative to the alco-sensor/ breath test machinery used throughout the Commonwealth. During that time, she received certification by NHTSA relative to conducting field sobriety testing and analyzing data obtained therefrom. She also effortlessly managed that firm’s billing, accounting, and real estate rental properties.
With her multi-faceted background and upon admission to the bar, Jessica took a position with an insurance defense firm in Albany, New York where she focused her practice primarily on civil and criminal litigation, including but not limited to personal injury, general negligence and medical/professional malpractice. Most notably, she was able to secure a dismissal of a 20M medical malpractice suit that was asserted against a local municipality.
Outside of the professional and legal environment, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael and their young son, Michael Jr. together with their three dogs and two cats. She is also featured in a book; The Paleo Miracle 2: Women of Strength, which focuses primarily on women who have overcome adversities in their journey to recognize strength in varying forms.
