Amanda R. Stern

Ms. Stern has secured the successful resolution of many varied matters of tort litigation, including automobile accidents, premises liability, Labor Law, in addition to various other claims of negligence and property damage. She provides ongoing advice and counsel to businesses and organizations as well as their management pertaining to formation, organization, fiduciary obligations and ongoing risk management issues. Her experience also includes the representation of automobile dealerships and employees in a wide variety of subject matters including issues regarding repair disputes, property damage, Lemon Law claims, warranty issues, franchise questions, sales and service agreements as well as employment agreements and disputes.

A prior position with the Legal/Compliance Department of an institutional securities broker-dealer, required regular interaction with regulators to ensure both employee and firm compliance with industry requirements, provided an extraordinary foundation that Amanda later incorporated into her practice when representing firms, financial advisors, and other securities industry professionals in customer disputes, (pertaining to churning, suitability, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contact, improper supervision and other claims) regulatory investigations and employment matters (including the representation of both firms and industry professionals in forgivable loan disputes.)

Ms. Stern is a 1997 graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs New York and a 2002 Graduate of Albany Law School, where she participated in the Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition, Donna Jo Morse Negotiation Competition, as well as the Karen McGovern Senior Prize Trial Competition, in addition to acting as the Secretary, Labor and Employment Student Organization, from 2000 until 2002. While a student she also provided free legal representation to individuals whose lives had been affected by HIV and AIDS.

Upon graduation, Amanda returned to the Albany Law School Clinic and Justice Center as a Staff Attorney to independently handle the representation of individuals with developmental disabilities in cases pertaining to the violation of both state and federal laws pertaining to such issues as education and discrimination, while also mentoring and assisting students and interns.
