John F. Moore

Mr. Moore received an undergraduate degree in English and Journalism from SUNY Albany, and received his legal degree from Albany Law School of Union University in 1998 (cum laude). During his time at law school, Mr. Moore was involved in the Moot Court program, where he was a semifinalist in the Domenick L. Gabrielli Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition (also winning the Best Brief award) and participated (both as a competitor and, later, a coach) in the Irving R. Kaufmann Memorial Securities Law Moot Court Competition at Fordham Law School. During summer 1996, he took classes in International and Human Rights Law at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland. He was also a member of the Moot Court Board in 1997-98, and was a founding member (and first President) of the Albany Law School Celtic Law Society, a student group which still functions today in the law school. During law school, Mr. Moore worked at the New York State Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection, where he investigated claims to reimburse economic losses caused by lawyers' dishonest conduct.

He was admitted to and has practiced extensively in the New York State Courts (in 1999) and to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District (in 1999) and Southern District (in 2002). He has been admitted to practice in the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals (in 2000) and United States Supreme Court (in 2007), and has engaged in extensive appellate practice in the Federal Second Circuit Court of Appeals, New York State Court of Appeals and all four of New York State's Appellate Divisions. He has practiced before state and federal agencies such as the New York State Division of Human Rights, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the New York State Liquor Authority. He is a member of the Albany County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Mr. Moore has successfully argued matters before the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court, United States District Courts for the State of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has defended cases involving personal injury arising out of premises liability, automobile/serious injury cases, dram shop liability, has represented car dealerships in numerous personal injury, fraud and discrimination suits, along with defending municipalities, school districts/school boards and police departments in numerous civil rights, harassment and employment discrimination matters, as well as various other municipal issues. Additionally, Mr. Moore has defended venues in BMI/ASCAP collection and licensing matters, as well as representing licensees in proceedings brought by the State of New York Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
