Mission Statement

The attorneys and staff of Towne, Bartkowski & DeFio Kean, P.C. are proud to be a mid-sized general practice law firm offering services in many areas of the law. Our belief in our community has been backed up by not only words but also by actions. Our dedication to our clients is paralled with an equal dedication to our community and those suffering and in need. Each staff member and attorney is given an individually directed allowance for annual charitable contributions of their choosing. Firm members are regularly recognized for the generous donations of time and money directly benefitting the community where we live and practice and extends to charitable efforts in the United States and abroad in Africa.

  • Avid supporters of the Annual Run Against Domestic Violence sponsored by the Albany County Bar Association.
  • Perrenial leaders in fundraising for the Upstate Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
  • Trustee of the Loisaba Community Conservation Foundation in Africa.
  • Annual personal sacrifices of hair for the important Locks of Love campaign which provides human hair for those suffering from the loss of their own due to chemotherapy.
  • Spear heading campaigns for the National Museum of Dance.
  • Every attorney annually takes cases from the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York through its Private Attorney Involvement Program to help out the overworked and strained resources of the Legal Aid Society.
  • Active Board Membership, and on its Executive Committee, in the Legal Society for 19 years.
  • Former Board Member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Upstate New York.
  • Participant in the New York Stae Bar Association's assistance program to families of 9/11 Victims.
  • Chosen as a Class Member by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce in Leadership Saratoga Class of 2007, one attorney is being specially trained on civic matters to increase the firm's efforts and community participation.
  • In the fall of 2006, one firm member was selected and travelled to South Africa as a People to People Ambassador to the South African governement to participate in the exchange of ideas and work on changes in South Africa's labour laws.
  • Leaders in the Justice For All Campaign for the Legal Aid Society.
  • Regularly provide representation to a large local Community Action Agency.
  • Provide legal assistance to a county-wide Mental Health Asociation.
